The Parker Pen Company was a prolific advertiser and one of the pens they advertised the most over the years was the Parker 51. During WWII, Parker advertised heavily that the Parker 51 was in short supply due to to wartime manufacturing restrictions, in fact they advertised so heavily that when the war finally ended, Parker could barely keep up with production of the 51.
